Paul Doerrfeld

Retired Manufacturing Manager · Algonquin, Illinois, USA

Paul has been an active participant in amateur piano competitions for many years, including the Cliburn in Ft. Worth, Texas, Paris, Boston, and Chicago, appearing as a finalist in all of them. Paul received a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, studying with Mary Sauer. While a decision to enter the family manufacturing business changed the direction of his career away from music, Paul has continued to keep his piano skills sharp and credits participating in amateur piano competitions as a great motivator. He also appreciates the love and support from family and friends. When not practicing, you will probably find Paul having fun on the pickleball court.

“Look mom, I’m still practicing!”
