Wendy Wang, from Guangdong, China, began piano at age 4. At 16, she completed a sponsored year-long cultural exchange in Massachusetts, where she performed at a pre-concert event for Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Jon Nakamatsu and was profiled in the Cape Cod Chronicle. Wendy later earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of British Columbia in 2018. Upon graduation, she joined Microsoft as a Software Engineer in Vancouver, Canada. Recently, Wendy performed Carmina Burana with the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra playing both Piano and Celesta at Benaroya Hall. Her dual journey as a software engineer and pianist is featured in the book The Women of Microsoft, published by Wiley in celebration of Microsoft's 50th anniversary. Her current teacher is Seattle pianist Mark Salman.
