When Suo Lee was choosing a career path in college, she hoped her piano teacher would encourage her to study music, the only thing she was passionate about. Playing and discovering new music on the piano was sustenance for her soul. She enjoyed chamber music, sought opportunities to play with as many musicians as possible, and hoped to have a musical career after winning the Fannie Kopald Stein Memorial Award for Excellence in Performance her senior year. Instead, her teacher advised her to pick medicine over music, to the delight of her parents. Suo Lee is now a primary care physician, but music remains her first love.
