Steve lives near Portland, OR. and works in IT. He minored in clarinet at SMU and dabbled at piano just enough to engrain bad habits, abandoning it in his 20's. In 2017 he tried piano again, and slowly grew more serious. He enjoys chamber music and has become a regular at "Play Ins". He finds the depth and breadth of possible learning topics linked to piano study fascinating. He's lately especially interested in refining the skill of practicing, and is intrigued how, beyond early learning years, studies show "talent" might essentially be a myth. He is slowly trying to learn absolute pitch.
