Carl Rosser grew up in a family that loved the arts. His mother painted, his father took photos, and Carl and his two brothers played the piano. So it is no surprise that Carl turned out to be a passionate amateur pianist, landscape photographer, and peruser of art museum websites. A bookworm from childhood, Carl went on to earn a Ph.D. in literature from the University of Iowa, where he met his wife, Lin Wan. They moved to Ellensburg, Washington, where they raised three children. Carl taught English as a Second Language and now volunteers as a pianist at Assisted Living establishments.
